Smile Help with sub + amp choices

Hey guys, I wanted to see if i could get some suggestions on a sub woofer to put in my GE8 Fit. The stock system just isn't that great to me and I like to have a decent amount of bass.

What I really want is a shallow mount sub woofer that I could put where the spare tire is. Not on top of the spare tire but totally pulling it out and putting a box in that space.

Right now I am looking at a Rockford Fosgate Punch 3 Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD412 12" Dual 4 ohm Stage 3 Subwoofer Since a buddy of mine has one in his truck and I love the way it sounds and the overall quality of the sub woofer.

Does anyone have any suggestions on something better to fit in there or a better area to put it? And also and amp to pair with it. Hoping to not spend much over $200 on the sub. As for the amp I think I'm gonna set the limit at about $250.

Thanks!

Depending on how you build it, you've got plenty of room. I built a similar setup for my GD and started with a slim Exile and ended up with a standard depth Hertz. Having sold RF equipment for years and used it for many of that, they make great products. If you've heard it in a friends box and are pleased then go for it. I will add one caution, box size will have a huge difference in how the driver sounds. Too small of an enclosure may make it sound like it's missing bottom. Too big and it may sound boomy. Make sure that you build the enclosure to the proper size.

Thanks for the response! I've decided to hold off on the Sub purchase at the moment as I have had some unexpected bills come up. However, I am hoping to be able to get started on this by this summer. I still love that Punch 3, It hits hard for a shallow mount and it's crisp and clean. I do think I will need to get a new HU even though I really want to stay as stock as possible. Plus adding tweeters and new door speakers. Since I only have 4 speakers right now as is.

Quick Question. If one were to order the tweeters from a sport fit from cflhonda listed as: "Inst pnl speaker Back" how hard would it be to wire in to the stock system and then into a Pioneer touchscreen system?
