Wow, been a while since my last post!

Tried these wheels out for a day:
18x8 et45 (8mm spacer in rear) Rota MC with 215/40-18 Nankangs. Too big for my taste, and rubbed terribly. Looked sweet though.

I really want to try adjusting them, and seeing if I notice a difference in ride and handling.

For now, they are set at 2.5" lower than stock, and have at least 0.75" left in the rear and more than that in the front.

I have the damping set at 8 in the front, and 5 in the rear I believe.

I am not sure if the pre-load is correct in the front.

It is definitely a firmer ride than stock, but not much different than the lowering springs i was running before.

It's comfortable enough that passengers don't notice the stiffness except on big potholes and such.

Handling is great, with my current wheel/tire setup it even gets a little tail happy if I push hard enough.

Definitely would recommend them, and would buy them again!

Some pics from the coil over install:

I have a feeling the spring seat should be wound up so there is no gap from the top mount to the spring, can anyone confirm this?

Lowered more, rear coilovers maxed with collars still in, front can go down more but didn't want rake. Front tires hit fenders bad at this height, so raised it back up until the front wheels can be widened (it's happening this month)

Are your front fenders pulled at all?
I'm looking to run 17x8 et30 all around (wrapped in 205/40s) and it's a bit more aggressive than your current setup. I'm not worried about the rears since I can just pull them out as much as I need to, but my front is dropped between your current height and when you lowered it more. I'm already rubbing on 17x7 et43 wrapped in 215/40s so I don't know how much more I should be expecting to rub with the new setup.

No fender mods whatsoever. What tires are you planning on running? Based on the fact that my 7.5" et35 rubbed with the narrowest tires in a 205/40-17 available (Falken ZE512's run about 0.5" narrower than most tires in the same size) when dropped more, I am pretty sure you will need to at least roll your fender lips or possibly pull the fenders. There was a guy on here who had 17x8 et30 Rotiform NUE's on a GE8 on coilovers, so it has been done before but I don't know what he did to make it work.

Check out these websites, it will may help you understand fitment and the math involved:

Thanks for the comments, and yeah the graphics are definitely a love it or hate it type of thing, but I like 'em and that's what matters right? I think I'm gonna do something different next year!

That doesn't look right to me. When I installed my Buddy Club N+ I made sure the spring was touching both the top and bottom collars, and then tighted 'em more. In this picture you basically have NO preload on the spring. Unless the actual shock is completely extended...I can't tell. But yeah all that gap between the top of your spring and the top red spring seat shouldn't be there...

I'm sending my Rotas off to be widened, which takes a couple of weeks turn around time. So until then, I will be rolling on the stock wheels, repainted again. Also stenciled white letters on my tires like the cool kids in Japan are doing.

Not for everybody, but I like it.

Would 195/45 give a good stretch for the 17x7.5 et35? I just ordered that size that's why and I need to give it some stretch for clearance
