I've been so busy lately that I haven't even thought about it. I saw your post. Just went back and looked at the dates - sorry, gonna be on a family vacation at that time. Hope the ATL has a good "Fit Convoy" snaking its way up to Nashville. Have fun!

Jim, this is a great comprehensive and informative thread for those who haven't ventured off into modding their GE8. Keep it up!
ET - The initial break-in took some time because I did the wheels/tires and chassis braces all at once. So many things changed for the better that it was hard to know what was making the most impact. I'm still not confident that I know where the new limits are. I rotated at 3k, dealt with a bit of vibration for a few weeks, and then had them re-indexed and balanced. That settled everything out. I just rotated the second time at 6k getting ready for The Dragon weekend. I've been running at 36 psi for my DD to keep it tight but tolerable. I was running at 34 but it was affecting the MPG a bit. I'm going to try 38 psi for the run next weekend. I'll have a few hours of driving on the way up to get used to it. One crazy part is that I've had the tires on since Memorial Day and STILL have not driven in a downpour! Seriously - 3 1/2 months and I've only driven in drizzle so far. Dry grip has been pretty good. I like the way they feel with my setup.

Thanks for the props on my thread. I was thinking of breaking up the super long first post into separate chunks to make it easier for people to reply and make comments, but I think it might hose things up. Not sure.

Are you talking cold pressures?

Yes, cold tire pressure. I haven't tried anything around 40 psi because it's just too harsh for my daily commute. 36 psi cold is about as stiff as I can handle commuting 300 miles a week while keeping the MPGs around my normal average per tank. But I do want to see the difference at 38-40 in a performance/fun setting like the Dragon run next weekend.

It just dawned on me why you asked. I know that in our Georgia heat, with a 35 minute commute on the interstate, my tire pressure hot is about 3 psi higher than cold. So in reality I am feeling the feedback at a higher psi than I have stored in my brain! derrrrrr

Jill & I are planning on hooking up with you guys Saturday. We just have to establish a time and a place where we can meet. When you get to the spirited driving part of your weekend, start with cold 38psi front and 40psi rear. Then after running a good pace and getting those tires heated up, check your pressures again. Adjust your hot pressures to 42psi front and 40psi rear if you have your Progress RSB. If not, bring your rear pressures up to 42psi hot. See ya next weekend!

New pics posted

I've updated the thread with some new pics - throttle controller, taillight film, carbon fiber film, painted grill, and some recent driving shots. Enjoy!

Not hating, but I'm not really too sure how this is FORM over function. It seems more like Function over form. The word form in cars is used as the way the car looks, wheel fitment, stance, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong. Your car looks good though but could do w/o some of those mods.

It was a dyslexic typo. I know the difference btwn function and form. Once saved as a thread, you can't edit the title.

"Your car looks good though but could do w/o some of those mods." That's and odd comment. What's good for you might be different than what's good for me.

I went with 16's because I couldn't find the offset I wanted in a wheel that I liked in a 17. Lots of choices, but very few with a +45 offset, and even fewer of those in styles I like. I also have more tire choices with this setup.

I agree either go 17" or lower more. I prefer lower. Always my answer. Car and mods look good though. Not a rota fan anymore though. Should have went enkei.

Actually had Enkei's in line and made a last minute change to the Rota's to save $300. I'm happy with them. No balancing issues, and the paint is holding up real well.

FWIW everyone, in person, Jim's car presents VERY well and handled the road even better. Did you guys really take a good look at those wheels......change them, no way in hell I would, never!
