How accurate is the oil life reading? The person I bought the car from doesn't have a sticker stating when the last time they got their oil changed was so this is the only thing I have to go off.

 

In your owner's manual you will read that Honda suggests we follow the oil life reading (or the "Maintenance Minder" as it is called) to do all of our car's regular maintenance. You can either trust that the previous owner changed the oil when they reset the maintenance minder or you can change the oil yourself, resetting the maintenance minder to 100%, and starting from there. When I bought my car used, the maintenance minder was at 85% but I went ahead and switched to synthetic and reset the maintenance minder to 100%.
