depends on how low a drop you want to go...
lowering springs can cost less then $200 but then coilovers can be $1000 |
erm. I'm a noob D: I'm guessing lowering springs doesn't make much of a difference?
|
it loweres the cars about 2in in the front and 1.1/2 in in the rear but it depends on the springs and my car handles better then stock .. ill be getting coilovers soon tho
|
2in....if I get my car lowered one of these days, It's gonna be slammed to the ground ;)
|
if u can drive like that during your commute.. then go for it... i drive to places with tons of dips/potholes.. so no slammed for me
|
Hmm my commute... it consists of going down the street, making a left and going down another street. hahaha.

jfti317 thats badass!
|
I think Front 20mm - Rear 30mm is a perfect drop with no scrapes. It also drives and looks much better. Best all round.
|
damn...now that's slammed. my parking garage is too steep to ride that deep.

from being that low, my fenders are rolled haha. a scrape all day but it's part of lifestyle. I'm going lower soon when school is out for me. wheels...I'm kinda keeping on the down low. they are going to be sicckk if they turn out how I have them planned. pretty sure they will be a fit first and also maybe a first for the wheel in general (:

I'm there with you! I have to park in front of my house instead of in the garage now and also can't park in the garages at school because I'll rub like a mug

The Eibach Pro-Kit looks really nice... but has anyone put on the Eibach Sportline Kit???
The Sportline says it will lower the front 1.8 inches and the rear 2.0 inches. Whereas the Pro-Kit is front 1.2 and rear 1.4. I would like to see pics of the Sportline kit on the Fit. :) |

To each their own, of course... but I really don't like the rear sitting lower (or even as low) as the front end. Just doesn't have an optimal look to me. Not all Fits look that way even if the springs lower more in the rear, I realize this. I don't know... just personal preference, I suppose. |
To each his own.
Eibach has been around forever. . They know what they're doing. I personally think the fit has a raked look with the stock suspension. To even it out, most spring manufacturers lower the rear more. |

Screw that! (I mean the amount of lowering) Why do most, not all, but most spring manufacturers lower the Fit more in the rear than in the front? It doesn't make sense to me.

Both on dropzone springs
|
Both fits in my sign are on $80 drop zone springs. U can find them on eBay. Threw them on til I save up for coilovers
|
Best springs for the price.. and from how people explain the ride of other springs these ride just as good

Looks good! What are the tire specs?
Ideal size for this car is 205/45-17, since most are only 7" wide. Now Ive got 205/40-17 falkens all around, which are a little smaller in overall diameter, but not by much. 185/55-16 = 24.01 OD (Factory Sport) 195/40-17 = 23.14 205/40-17 = 23.46 215/40-17 = 23.77 205/45-17 = 24.26 (Closest) 215/45-17 = 24.62 |

Either way, it looks good. I like the drop, but I couldn't have that in my area... it would be a major pain in the rear where I live. I'd probably end up doing damage to the front lip. |
any one live in socal that could help me lower my ge8?

I wanted Swifts... but I don't know if I want to pay their higher prices.

i agree, i never liked spring companies that do squat look, especially on the FIT, cause since i will drive people around, then the back will be tucking tire and the front still 2 finger gap
The cargo factor is something I didn't even think of... if you load people or things in the back (the Fit is light in the rear anyway) it's going to get even more of that rear-slam-w/nose-in-the-air look. Some muscle cars used to look good like that. Even at that, in my opinion only a few could pull it off and look good. Not exactly great for aerodynamics either! :p And yeah, given the Fit's rear-to-front natural downward slope - compliments of its sides' character lines - it doesn't look real good dropped more in the rear. Only my opinion, though. |
I personally just like the fender gap to be even all around
|
The Mugen springs I had gave 20mm drop and a great ride. You would be very happy with them.
Gap Front 2 fingers / Rear 2.5 fingers. http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/1320/myjazz.jpg |
