I have +40 offset 205/40/17 the fronts poke about a 1/2" which i like and I want to get 20mm spacers for the rear to match eventually.

I really want to lower on springs(not enough cash for coils - maybe in a year ill do it)

I like the t1r s-coils but im worried about rubbing and i dont want to roll/pull or make camber adjustments

Does anyone have the same wheel size setup that is dropped on t1r's that has pics and doesn't rub???

Thanks in advance guys!

what's the width on the rim? i had 17x7 +35 with 205/40/17 tires on them when my car was still lowered on t1r springs but never had any rubbing issues. if you're planning on doing a 20mm spacer, i'm sure you'll be fine with a minor fender/quarterpanel roll.

mine are 17x7 as well. and yours would have poked out more than mine with a 35 offset. how close was the fender line to the tire after you dropped? i imagine it was dang close

actually, it wasn't bad at all. worst case scenario i had was probably minor fender liner rubbing against the tire when i took a hard turn, but other than that, nothing. i even threw a 8mm spacer all around when this picture was taken:

Not trying to be a dick but what I don't understand is when some of you guys are claiming "no rubbing" when the fact is that a minor rub when doing this or that is still "rub" non the less. 1/2" or more poke off the fenders with no rubbing on 16/17 is just ridiculous. Much more on springs alone. Unless of course when you're slammed on coilovers with kidney destroying settings.

LOL don't mind me... I went wuss on +48 work xd9 hehe but it does give me more than enough wiggle room to play with offsets :D

hahaha thanks for that, i think it needed to be said anyway haha. Im just being over cautious about wanting to lower and id rather find out everything before than after.
Im more of a measure twice guy lol

Gahh its so frustrating how much i want to do with not enough time and money to do it haha.

^^^^ Ride is looking freakin intense! Excellent stance!

Question: how did you get -1 in the rear!?! I'm dying to know how to adjust the rear camber/toe!

thanks! -1 is very easy...it came with the coilover suspension. when i installed the c/o it give the rear a natural -1 (confirmed when i got an alignment)

niko3257 10-21-2010 04:19 PM

plus one on the -1 camber one the rears.

TheRealDooder 10-21-2010 05:15 PM

im going to give her a good wash this weekend and then snap some better photos. im sure other coilover suspensions will alter the camber in the rear but if not u can always go w shims if u want that negative camber. thanks everyone for the comments and rep powa..

oh by the way, buddyclubs also allow u to adjust the front camber up to 3 (mine was at 2.8 and i just eye balled while adjusting it) when i got the alignment i had them set it to -1 so i can get better tire wear plus it wasnt necessary since i rolled the fender. now it sits nicely and it clears =)

slowimport 10-23-2010 11:37 PM

here is a pic before i got the alignment i will take pics with my good camera later

do the hd lip till you decide to get a lip. so that way you got extra dough for xmas gifts.

Swift settled in nicely on my daily . Note that I don't have rear seats, no rear seatbelt assemblies and in turn... the car has a nice aggressive front rake :vtec:
