spring compressors that work on our small springs!
I'm trying these out this weekend on the hatch. I have used the claw type and those thing are dangerous! and tear up the shock's finish. The McPherson clap was a PITB! and on my civic torn the paint TS&B! on the shock. The 4g civic has a pencil spring 1/2" away from the shock.
But Hoyt & me did the Fit and did not use a compressor at all.

Was sitting around my friend's garage. Those look like a PITA? You have to screw the clamps on the spring?

Hey Wanderer.
Price was $34.99 at the store, these look mickey mouse in the pic but are 5/8" threaded bolts 16" long & these have U bolts that clamp to the spring so there's no way the spring can fly out of the perch. And another benny is they will not scratch the shock!! bonus!! I've used the perch type and they can let the potential energy of the spring loose on ya!! I got a set of these becuz i'm playing around with lowering a hatch quite a bit right now, I remember Hoyt telling me lowering is addictive and he was right. I'll prob. lower this thing on bags some day, haha? humm, hoooo-ya! w/ a b18c5 turbo M/T 5spd w/ LSD. I'm think'n Subie was right too........
