Swift spring rates for GE8 vs. GD3
I'm just about to buy my first Fit. It'll be a GE8 Sport.
I'd like to lower it and increase handling. Looking at Swifts website, I've noticed the GE8 spring rates are far softer than the GD3.
Front GE8/GD3 129/168
Rear GE8/GD3 117/314
Three questions...can you use the GD3 Swift springs in the GE8?
Is it wise?
Are there differences in shocks characteristics that would make this unwise?
Thanks everyone.

This is the exact question I have. Incase anyone else finds this thread, I know that they fit/bolt up just fine.
I'm mostly curious about the rear spring rate being more than double than the correct ones for the model. I'm looking to replace my stiff/bouncy skunk2 setup with Swift springs as we are having a baby in November. While this isn't our main vehicle, I'd like to have something acceptable for carrying a newborn
If having a new born was not part of my drama, I would not be hesitant to pull the trigger and do this.

If you have the factory shocks, those springs will wear them out much faster. If you have bumpy roads, the rear would probably start bouncing around. You need to replace the shocks that would compliment the spring rates.

just swapped out GD rated springs on my GE to GE springs and it was a huge difference. my shocks were fine after 40,000 miles on GD rated springs and fell "rejuvenated" on the correct spring rates.
They fit, but I would rather spend the money on GE springs.
