Tire sensor

Greeeeeeting!

well it happened, I got a nail in my front driver side tire, the nail if next to the last inside groove of the tire. Tire shop tells me it is NOT Repairable.

So I am getting another oem wheel and tire. I need to a sensor, which sensor should I get, I checked ebay and they have sensors for accord, crv fit.

Are they interchangeable between the models?
What are the honda part #s for the tire sensor?

Tire shop tells that they have to reset the sensor, another 8$, what the&%$#@

what steps are involved in resetting the tires sensors?

Thanks,

If I'm not mistaking, you can take the TPMS out of the old to fit on the new one....

Anyone can correct or confirm this?

Yes you can reuse the TPMS sensor if the sensor is not damaged. I'm guessing your wheel is damaged too?

yes, I can reuse them, but I want to get 2 additional sensors so I can have full size spares with sensors, like a turn key spares, I travel for work and really throws a monkey in my schedule when I have to drive around 5 tire shops and all them laugh at me and tell me that "I have an odd size" :-)

my wheel is fine...

The TPSM is set up to ID four tires. If you switch out a tire already ID'd you will need to have the TPSM reset to learn them all again.

TPSM sounds like PMS to me. Glad we don't have them.

Cool I saw this link...

on one of the other threads about a company that makes sensors that mimic your current sensors...
http://www.orange-electronic.com/eng...uct/sub05.html

This would keep you from having to go to the dealer to get reprogrammed all the time.

HA - not sure if it qualifies for that... more like a mild PIA, but it does seem to be quite lame in the Fit.

Guess folks need another 'idiot light' to tell them the tire is flat... I really don't get it.
I'm sure other systems provide useful info, but a system that can be fooled by cold weather isn't very useful, and it's dumb as to which tire is tripping it and forget about tagging the spare.
