205/50 is closest to stock 185/55. It's only slightly taller and of course wider which is yum.

For the GD, the recommended tire size for a tire on a 16 inch wheel is 205/45R16. A tire that size is approximately 22.8 inches in diameter, the factory recommended 195/55R15 is approximately 23.4 inches in diameter.

For the GE, the recommended tire sizes for a tire on a 16 inch wheel is 185/55R16 (Sport wheel) and 205/50R16 (Mugen Wheel). The 185/55R16 is approximately 24 inches in diameter and the 205/50R16 is approximately 24.1 inches in diameter.

Several GE owners here, like Btrthnezr3 for example, have gone to 205/50R16s when it came time for new tires due to the larger selection in that wider size. In addition to this, if you decide to swap wheels from a GE to a GD using the GE's recommended tire sizes, you may end up rubbing if your offset is too low even at factory ride height. I personally have 205/55R15 (24 inches in diameter) mounted on 15x6.5 ET+40 wheels on my GD and can rub the sidewall of all four tires on a hard enough bump (and turning in the front) with heavy cargo/passengers in the car.

Have a safe trip and watch for pot holes. The sidewall on a 205/40R16 is roughly 3.2 inches and your wheel will be more susceptible to damage. Along with that, the smaller diameter throws of your speedometer by 6.5%. So, when the speedo says, "60 MPH", you'll actually be doing 56.1 MPH. Click the link below and select your information if you would like to see how the tire affects the speedometer.

Well this is great info! Honestly I never knew that ! Um yea I'm def gambling with the rims and all but my other tires were worn and the reason y I put those on is because I was left with these after I sold my rotas! They are pretty much new and I ain't going to let them go to waste ! But yea imma be extra careful ! But I'll see if I post some pics tomorrow of my stance

Na u got nothing to worry but then again it depends on what u lowered in but when I had the teins s-tech , I had the rota slipstreams onthat were 16+7 with 40 offset and 205/45-16 and never rubbed ! Now I'm slammed with Megan coils and I have the sport stock alloys with 205/45-16 and still no rubbing and I never did no modifications to the fenders at all
