Mini Cooper wheels, my nuts, you need these!

Just picked up a set of Mini Cooper R85's.
Yeah I know they're boat anchors! But they were cheap!

Thought I would let everyone thinking about running Mini rims that you need these lug nuts to get enough threads on the studs and to properly seat the rims. With these I'm getting 14 complete rotations on the studs and with a stock Honda rim & lug nut I'm only getting 9.

I plan on getting some 8mm spacers for the rear, I put some washers that spec'd out to 8mm and I still had 9 full rotations!

They can be found at Jegs for $5.99 for 5 or $21.99 for a set of 20 that has locks and valve stems. HERE

Look close at the difference!

So how about a picture of the wheels installed?

I've been wanting to test fit a set of 17" S-Lites for a while now.

Actually I have to order another set of lugs from Jegs and a spacer. I have another car that has a set of Mini Cooper wheels [R83] on it and I only had 4 extra lugs from that set of 20.

A good site for Mini Cooper rims.

I'm using McGard Spline Drive and lock nut on mine. It's holding up good so far, but the Jegs are probably safer.

I was hoping you would pipe in here Inkster.

I would have prefered some R90's like yours but this set came along and it cost me less than 2 tankfuls of gas!

Hey, will tuner/racing lugs work on mini? What would the correct size be? The mini bolts are like a shaped (http://www.outmotoring.com/images/P/MIN_lugs_md.jpg) and are 14x1.25 17 mm bolt while the oem are 12x1.5 19mm nut.

So I can just get these lugs and be set to go?

No pictures, she's all tucked away for the winter!
But I did throw them on real quick and it looked good!

Stock lugs=ball/radius type
Mini Cooper take conical/tapered lugs
So the answer is NOPE!

Well i know im late with this topic and forgive me for reviving this up. It's just a fact that im working with a project of my dads mini which has possibly the same issue on the rims. Im just wondering if i could find OEM rims on local junks. Im after the quality and not the price. im actually willing to pay any amount just to see those stuff working on me.
