Just got a 2012 Fit Base and I'm looking for some new rims and winter tires. What rim/tire size is recommended and what brand?

I'm looking to spend under $600 on the rims and under $600 on the tires.

 

I ordered the General Artic Altimax on 14 inch steel rims from Tire rack for $680, that's with shipping. I just put them on today and went out a couple of times and they are quiet for a snow tire. No experience with them on the snow but the survey results on tire rack were high and consumers reports rated them high also, so I thought I'd give them a try.

 

Use the base wheels for winter rims...maybe you should just buy snow tires now and nice wheels in the spring...
