Les Schwab charging $20.95 for TPMS Relearn at tire change?

So it's time to put on new tires (already have the tires) and Les Schwab wanted to charge:

$13x4 Wheel Splin Balance= $52.00
$8x4 Dismount & Mount= $32.00
$20.95 TPMS Relearn Labor= $20.95
$1.50x4 Junk Tire Disposal= $4.50.

Do those charges seem normal? I asked the salesperson if they were sure that the TPMS relearn was required, and they said yes.

I've called two local Honda dealers, and they say it is NOT required when changing tires. Also, my vehicle is only at 27k miles on original tires, so this is not any type of TPMS rebuild.

Is this an extra safety step, or am I being fleeced?

The TPMS stays with your wheels, no reason to have them reset if you change tires

If you got new wheels and tires then yes you need to pay for a reset

Thanks. I though Les Schwab was decent until this happened.

Only if you get new sensors. If you just swap the sensors no need. I'm sure that's what you meant but just clarifying.

Got new tires for my '10 E350(un-related I know) and TPMS lite went on next day. Took it back to the shop & they said that sometimes happens(?)
They re-set the light(about 30 seconds of labor) and said good-bye.
You ARE getting fleeced if they are charging for this 'service' - especially after selling you new tires!

Yes of course but that's not his situation

Why would he need new sensors this soon?

Haha no, the second sentence you wrote read like if you get new wheels you need new sensors, I was just clarifying the statement.
