First idle

I put my "stock" GK5 throttle body and RZ crew manifold on to tone down any issues with the S2K throttle body before tuning. I was able to run her for 10 minutes between 2000 and 3500 so the cams should be broke in (10 to 15 min rqmt). Here's a video and a few pics showing MAF (bought a new one today for troubleshooting). Also I added back the EGR canister to connect back into the wire loom in case an open there was causing a race condition in the software. That helped with the S2K TB still on there. Also added a mishimoto oil catch can while u was switching manifold...

EGR BS

MAF hole and air from intake to valve cover.

Back to basics GK5 TB until tuned

Mishimoto oil catch can

A bit more aero sneaking in

Porsche whale tail club here i come!

Holy shit it’s running leeeeannn lol. Sounds great though. It’s weird, the intake pipe looks wider than stock, so MAF should be reading low. But if you’ve tripled the fueling that should a make up for the extra air. I know someone changed the MAF housing, they said they did an easy Ktuner fix to get it metering air correctly. Do you happen to know the difference in diameter between the old MAF housing and the current intake tube diameter? Maybe if you compare the two then it’s possible to math out the difference of airflow to fix the MAF tables in your tune.
(MAF Settings)

I’m curious what the STFT and LTFT readings are. Is it trying to trim out the lean mixture and eventually giving up? Please let us know! This car looking and sounding good already! Holy crap thanks for sharing Z06!

I left Las Vegas in May. Spring Mountain is where I cut my teeth on HPDEs and racing ing the car. In Maryland now, moving to San Antonio in two weeks...

I will see what I can find out about the MAF settings. I did nothing to the fuel other than add some torco so probably have 95 octane approx in there right now... makes sense it is running super lean.
BREAK BREAK
Anyone find instructions for filling the radiator from empty? I'm nervous I have an air bubble in the block. The coolant temperature has not risen above 170, and that was at the end of the 10 minute run... it took less than 2 gallons to fill from empty...

Running good now!

It was the MAF calibration table. I found the radio between the og MAF cross sectional area and the new intake (1.9) and multiplied it across the table. Started right up, good idle. Drove it 16 miles last night.

It's hard to say because Golden Eagle says don't go over 3500 RPM until 200 miles on the odometer. Everything I've done is to create power above 3500. I've only got 28 miles on her so far. Also I still have no 5th or 6th gear-- synchros are still messed up. So, it pulls strong but I haven't got to "feel" all she has to offer just yet... and she won't get tuned until San Antonio! As for the LSD and the caster camber plates, this thing goes around corners like there's glue on the tires, I am the limiting factor at this point haha!

First pull to current red line

Got a couple runs in second to red line 7250 yesterday. She pulls strong for still being untuned. I would guess over 180hp as it stands. Hopefully with tune she will be over 200hp... feels as fast as my turbo talon before modding and that was a 2900lb 205hp awd car... still getting misfire codes just like with the lightweight flywheel. So I need that corrected, but that means I can run the LW flywheel since I need it fixed for both. I may have to step up to the motec computer which I wanted to avoid but that will also let me tune a turbo later...

Are those the stock ignition coils? And what spark plugs are you using too? Just curious.

Stock coils

NGK iridiums of some flavor. I've also been getting the Christmas tree lights and have been since last fall. Car was built in Mexico in August 2016, has 67,000 miles so I'll order new injectors when I get to Texas...

I don't know if anyone has the answer, but I'd be curious if injectors from a L15 turbo Civic would fit? Both because I've never heard of those cars having injector problems, and it would give you more headroom for tuning.

L15B7 injectors

I think I checked on hondapartsnow and they looked different, the head is surely different. I'll take another peek... but yeah I wondered the same...

They do fit... The difference being that the turbo ones are one grade colder....

Ill put them on my N/A FIT so it helps on pre detonation.... 😈😇

Would be awesome if the l15b7 injectors were compatible for our car.
