HKS exhaust...what do I need to do the install myself?

Hello Fellow FitFreaks,

I finally received my HKS exhaust in the mail, but after reviewing some of the parts included, it seems that I may be missing some.
In particular, I'm wondering if I should order new exhaust bolts and the donut gasket that connects to the stock setup.
It seems that the kit only includes parts to mount the muffler to the car, but I either have to reuse the stock ones (possibly too rusty) or get new ones from Honda.

any insight/assistance is greatly appreciated.

No you don't need anything. Just remove and replace while using the old hardware and gasket. I did it not even a couple months ago.

Thanks for the reply.

May I ask what year and what mileage you have on your Fit? Also, which exhaust did you go with?
Reason why I ask, is if your mileage is equal to or higher than mine, I'll know my stock hardware and gasket should be in good shape to reuse.

I tried to remove the bpipe gasket, it's freakin on there. No need to replace. Also bolts are spring retained, so shouldn't matter too much. My hardware was from 2018, and even with salty winters still was ok. I brushed them off and greased them after I reinstalled my axle back.

Once again you don't need to replace the hardware or gasket. The same donut style gaskets are used on my 1987 Civic and they don't wear out. The car is a 2018 with 50k on it.

That's crazy!
But thanks for the info. I feel more relieved knowing I have everything needed to do the install
