Want to Install a V6?
The problem is that the EPA frequently oversteps its bounds to the point of costing jobs and turns rivers orange though inept actions. They enforce rules (not laws) that cause farmers the proper use of their land over puddles that the EPA class as wetlands. Like a lot of governmental agencies, they need reining in. They are frequently run by zealots who don't consider unintended consequences.
Mind you I live in Nashville that is located in a bowl and used to trap smog for days on end. Coal was burned for heat. There were times up to the early 1970s where the air could not only be seen but smelled and tasted as well. I could not see the well lighted top of a skyscraper from 3 miles away on my morning drive. Those days are past. Natural gas and electricity now heat the town, emissions from autos and trucks are down, but the EPA continues to seek even lower emissions with rules without regard to technology.

Even though I'm not big on Mini's reliability, I doubt that it will give more trouble than a FrankenFit!
