Tone is excellent on the Tanabe.

I'm still not used to how the CVT makes the car sound, tho. Feels foreign to me

 

I'm not sure you ever really get used to it! I've found I can lift off the throttle momentarily while using the paddles in S-mode, and it sounds pretty similar to a manual (love doing this going through a long underpass near my work). But it's still not quite the same. That said, the CVT is the cats on a long interstate drive or when creeping along in traffic.

Great thread. It helped me to choose the tanabe over hks. And I am very satisfied with my choice.

I am thinking about getting this for my Fit. I do a lot of highway driving with a little autocross here and there. driving at highway speed do you hear the exhaust? Is there a deep drone? Compared to stock how loud is the exhaust? I hate the "fart can" noise and want to avoid it at all cost. Thanks for your help.

 

Cruising between 60 to 75 produce no drone--the exhaust note is different from stock. I do not think it is any louder, or at least, discernibly louder. No fart noises. You can hear it only under WOT in neutral when the gas gets cut off at around 5500 rpm. When in gear and WOT, no fart noises during upshifts.

 

Any chance somebody has a drive-by video of this exhaust? The original Vimeo link is dead, and there aren't many good videos of this exhaust online.
