Curt Hitch Vibration Problems

Someone on the Curt Website mentioned in a review that because the hitch was close to the muffler that there was vibration - is this something that runs true ?
"The only issue I have is that the rear muffler rests against the hitch, as it is a bit of a tight 'fit', so it currently sounds like I have a boy racer exhaust system back there due to the vibration. I plan to bend the muffler hangers down just a bit to hopefully cause the muffler to hang a little lower and not press against the hitch. That should stop the noise"

On my 2015 LX MT it fits fine. The muffler doesn’t rub at all. I don't know what they are talkin' about.

I'm going to purchase this for my EX 6MT. According to the curt manu website there are 4 different hitch ends that the 2015 can work with. Has anyone looked into getting the trailer light converter kit? It does not look hard to install at all.

There is no plug and play trailer wire harness available for the 2015 fit. It would need to be spliced into the existing harness with quick connectors that stab the insulation of the stock harness to tap into the signals. Then there is a separate battery tap at 15 amps to operate the converter box. Seems simple to install, just time consuming to install.

Does anyone know of a hitch with a 2" receiver? The Curt looks like it's 1" or maybe 1 1/4". Bike racks with the smaller inserts seem to really wobble on the road.

Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver (Class II Only) Hidden Hitch Hitch Accessories 80303

You need this adapter if you want a 2" receiver. I guess if you wanted to permanently convert the receiver to a 2" you can use this adapter and permanently weld it to the hitch. It wont handle more than a Class I tongue weight of 200 pounds though.

Compare Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" vs Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" | etrailer.com

compare the two adapters
