Fit LX shift boot collar?

Fit LX shift boot collar?
Was looking at car stuff today (imagine that right) and saw a photo of a 2019 Fit LX 6MT. You can see there is some kind of collar at the top of the boot in between the boot and shift knob?
I recently bought a 2018 Fit Sport 6MT and immediately thought something was missing since the boot just flops around and does not snap onto the shift knob.
Here’s a screen cap

My salesperson spent quite a while trying to figure out what piece was missing. It turns out that's just how it is. There is about a half inch of exposed metal. I ordered an aftermarket knob and shift boot collar.

My boot and shift knob are just like DetroitGK5’s. Are you saying that is aftermarket? I bought my 18 Sport used but was kind of surprised at the unretained shift boot.
Photo in the first thread is from a 19 LX MT.

guys and gals, the OP has the correct factory boot, despite it appearing as if it is an after market. Apparently Honda decided to use 2 different boots, one for their EX/LX line and the other for the sport. The EX/LX share the same boot as shown in the OP's image... 83414-T5R-A01ZL and the Sport uses its own part 83410-T5R-A91ZE. Why? I have no idea, it must be a Honda thing, but I do know one thing for sure, it looks horrible. Will the EX/LX fit the Sport? I have no idea, but I'd want to hope so. Good luck OP.

I have an aftermarket knob with the factory LX boot, which has the silver plastic clip/ring...I bought some foam pipe insulation, cut it to the length needed, and jammed it in the plastic piece. It does pretty well holding it flush to the knob, you actually have to tug it down to move it, ''tis pretty smug...low tech, but works well enough for my use
