How do I turn off the AC when I manually select Defogger aka Defrost mode in my 2019 Honda Fit LX (has manual AC button).l?

In past higher end EX plus models Honda automatically had the AC come on when Defrost mode was selected). This feature was (1) listed as a feature in the manual and (2) able to be disabled and the disabling sequence was in the manual

 

Did this on my '16 LX. No disabling sequence now, however no need to cut any wires. Removing the glove box you can see the back of the heater controller assy to your upper, left behind the dash. With some contorsion you can simply unplug the electrical connection from the rear of the controller knob. AC is still controllable from the push button, but will no longer automatically turn on from the defroster modes. Good luck.
