I removed the switch blanks on my 2015 and installed three switches. I want to put seat heaters in my son's 2019, and the switch will go in one of those blanks. The car isn't here now, but I'm wondering how those blanks remove. From what I recall, I pried mine out from the front. The alternative would have been to remove the lower panel and push them out from behind. Any ideas?
Well, you can pry it from the front... but if you have to install a switch, you'll have to pull the panel anyway. I don't know about the GK, but in the GE, the panel wasn't that big, plus there was an opening you could use as a handle to pull the panel off.
It's been awhile since I've taken apart most of the dash many times over. I believe that you can pull the bottom panel below the steering wheel to reach behind and pop out those blanks.
Alternatively, I believe that you might be able to reach from underneath to do the same thing. More awkward.
And lastly, after removing the driver's side panel closest to the door hinge, you undo a 8mm bolt and should be able to pull most of the panel out enough to pop out those blanks too.
Are you interested in selling those blanks? Honda Canada wants $17 CDN + tax for each of those and I can't find generic ones online.

Yes, that's true. The seat heater switch is round and small enough that it will fit into the pop-out blank. I figure I'll cut a round hole for the switch in the blank and pop it back in.
while mounting my throttle controller over the blanks, with 3m double sided tape..... at one point I yanked towards me the item in question, and it lifted the blanks out. that would be one easy to way pull without taking apart dash components

Well, that's a novel idea, and I just happen to have a roll of that tape.
And, along a similar vein with the suggestion that ECF made, if you are already going to drill out a hole for your switch, you could drill a small (pilot) hole and thread a screw a few turns in, giving you leverage to pull the blank out with fingers or pliers.

I asked about removing the switch blank over the cutout on the left side of the dash on a 2019. When I removed three on my 2015, I just used a plastic tool to pop them off. The 2018/2019 model is different.
1. Remove the access panel on the left side of the dash.
2. Remove the single 10mm/Philips screw.
3. Use plastic pry tools to pull the panel away from the upper dash.
4. Reach behind the switch blank and squeeze hard on the "ears" to release it and push it forward.
It takes a lot of effort to compress those "ears" enough to push the blank out. I don't know why the made it so difficult.
I've decided to install the seat heaters using the standard small round switch in the lower seat panel, as directed. Then I'll figure out how to wire the larger, ten-contact switch that will go in the dash.
I did a post a week or so ago, asking how to remove the switch blanks to the left of the steering wheel on the dash. On my 2015, I easily pried them out. That didn't work on this 2019. Someone asked for a picture of the switch, so I have some below.
I removed the small cover from the side from the dash, next to the door. At the bottom of the opening is a 10mm/Phillips screw (use either tool). Remove that, and then you can remove the lower panel. I used a couple of plastic panel removal tools. I pulled it away just enough to get my hand behind the switch blank. It's help in place by two ears that grip the rear of the dash panel. It takes a lot of effort to squeeze those ears together (top and bottom) enough to push the blank out the front of the dash. I think you can get an idea what it looks like from the pictures below. I can't imagine why Honda made it so difficult to remove those two blanks.
