My Honda Fit 2019 was not equipped with a cargo cover, there were even no side supports for it (I have JDM car). But its were in my previous cars, so I wanted to have them in Honda as well. Therefore, I purchased used side supports and installed them. Then I made the cargo cover using a thin, light sheet of plastic from an advertising board. I wanted to have a place on the shelf to store small things - so I buyed and used trays for growing seedlings. The shelf was reinforced with stiffeners, pasted over with furniture fabric. I am satisfied with the result, as for me the cargo cover turned out to be rigid enough, light, cheap and functional. I spent less than $4 on the buying just the trays and overlays for the edges, since I had the piece of plastic, piece of fabric, glue and other little things on hand. Some pics of process and result.
