Is there any way to get rid of this annoying noise?

Close the door and it goes away!

Is it coming from the speakers? If so, stopping it will be tough.

If it's coming from a discrete device the solution is as simple as unplugging the chime.

Yes here is what you do:

1) Wear your seat belt while driving.

2) Make sure all your doors, rear hatch, and hood are completely closed while driving.

3) Turn off your headlights (or leave them in automatic mode) before opening the door.

4) Remove your keys from the ignition before opening the door.

Unless I have missed one somewhere, I believe that if you do whats in the checklist above you will never hear that chime. And why would'nt you want to?

The only time I have ever heard that sound on my LX is when the car was giving me a valuable tip... you know like: Don't leave your keys! ... or turn off your lights!

Why the heck would you want to disable this valuable functionality??? Do you like coming back to a car with a dead battery? Do you like coming back to no car when someone sees you left your keys and drives off with it???

Hmmmmmmmm???

Really???

REALLY???

All valid points, my bet is on wearing their seatbelt.

Say you are just in your driveway and want to listen to the radio while you detail the interior with vthe doors open? The chime will continue to annoy you as long as the key is on the ignition.

Turn the key all the way to the on position and it will not chime.

As for seat belt chime, sometimes there is an input sequence that will deactivate it. In my old car, the sensor in the driver buckle went bad, so the chime would ping even with the seat belt buckled. I had to:

Put in ACC and wait until the seat belt life turned off. Within 10 seconds, buckle and unbuckle the seat belt 5 times. Turn headlights on. Turn headlights off. Seat belt light flashes. Buckle and unbuckle 3 more times and turn car off... or something like that. It was like speaking car lol.

I believe if you leave the key in the "on" position you activate systems that were never meant to stay energized without the engine running.

This was definitely true in the old days. I think you would burn up your points. I do not know if leaving the Fit turned on but not running does any harm... I suspect not. Maybe someone here can tell us positively...
