Hi guys, I joined the site just to ask this question because I can't find a straight answer on this.

I have a spare Spoon oil cap lying around, would the heat the oil cap accumulates damage the oil cap thread of the plastic valve cover if I installed it?

Obviously this is for novelty purposes but I love the shiny oil cap.

 

The valve cover sees heat anyway since it is attached directly to the head. The oil cap wouldn't heat the valve cover any more then it was designed to handle.
