I am interested in putting a digital MPH display on top of the existing MPH meter - something that connects to OBD2 and displays the MPH using actual numbers. I HATE HATE HATE meters - had a digital dash in the 80s and I miss it. I know I can use the 7" display to do this via Android Auto but I almost always have maps running and I prefer to see the MPH in front of me anyway. Does anyone know of a way of doing this mod for the 2018 Fit?
If you have an android phone, check out the Torque app.
I have. I need something that fits nicely over the meter behind the steering wheel. I could tape the phone there with duct tape, but I prefer a prettier solution.
Ultragauge and Scangauge are closer to what I am looking for, but those particular products are surprisingly old-looking with low-res cluttered displays. I did find something that might be exactly what I need, but now I'm going to whine about the price at $266:
It's round and might fit right into the existing round space in front of the factory meter. With any of the rectangular ones I would have to hand construct a special mount.
Still, bigger numbers and a lower price would make me happier.
It comes in several colors, including blue to match my Fit. Now I just have to find out if it will fit the Fit and what I need for a "sending unit". Stay tuned...
