2015 Ambient air sensor issue?

Hello everyone! I just got my first Honda Fit. 2015. I am loving it, but it is having an odd issue with the outside temperature it is displaying. I have noticed intermittently that when the car warms up the ambient air sensor will show a temp as mush as 25 degrees hotter than what it is outside. For example, last night I was driving home from the parents thanksgiving meal. The outside temp was around 20 degrees. When the car started it showed the correct temp, but after driving for about 40 minutes it slowly crawled up to 45-48 being displayed. Is this a common issue?

No not common - your outside air temperature sensor may have come loose from its mounting & is closer to a warm engine part.

According to my 2018 manual my outside temperature sensor is in the front bumper, well away from any engine heat. Your 2015 Fit might be different though. Check your manual.

I thought so (thanks Woof) - it might be a critter got into that space and had a snack on the wiring or recent service might have dislodged the sensor. Do you have a picture of that sensor location from the manual?

on a 2015, the sensor is on the front bumper.

if it came loose, it could be closer to the radiator and showing a hotter reading. or worse, its dangling and getting a colder reading from getting too much air flow
