Key Fob Not Detected When It's Right There
So recently my 19 Fit LX with push-button start and 11K on the odo has started having a weird symptom. When I get out of the car with the motor running, and leave the fob on the front seat (where it is has resided since I got into the car), when I get back in, the dash display says "Key fob not detected". The car continues to run just fine and the message usually goes away after about five minutes.
It also happens (but not as often) if I exit the car (still running) with the fob in my hand.
I am waiting till my next service interval to mention this to the dealer, but I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem.

1) LXs don't have Smart Key fobs... EX (sunroof and polished faced alloys) and higher trims do.
2) There are various dead zones on the GK5 Fit that may falsely detect/mistake the key as being in the car (like when placed on the windshield wiper cowl) OR when the key is in the car and NOT detected (like around the center console around the parking brake and armrest area).
3) In rare situations, thicker phone cases and even phones themselves can actually interfere with Smart Key signals as well as giving a false "missing key" alarts.

If you are keeping it on your front seat, are you sitting on it? A body will block the RF signal pretty good.
Also, getting out of the car with it in hand while running, will make the car do that series of beeps to warn you its out of the car. And the dash will also beep in the interior to say the key isn't in the car. This is normal, and safety feature so you don't leave it running and walk away and forget it.

Think I found the problem
I think this issue was caused by my third-party "Carplay2Air" adapter. This dongle plugs into the USB/phone port, and gives you wireless Carplay. It does this with a kludge of bluetooth and WiFi to your iPhone. When I disconnect it (and just use regular cabled Carplay), the problem seems to go away. The adapter was not wonderful anyway, so I am going to chalk it up as a failed experiment!
Thanks to all for your help.

"Compare the 2019 Fit Sport vs EX Trims. What is the difference?
When you move up to the EX trim, the Honda Sensing package comes standard. Honda Lane Watch is added on as well. Features such as push-button start, smart entry and walk-away auto lock are included for this level. These features make use of your key fob and will not work if the fob is too far away from the vehicle. This trim package gives you sportier wheels too. It comes equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels and upgraded, performance tires."Thread
