Cast iron or chromoly replacement flywheel?
Cast iron or chromoly replacement flywheel?
I bought me '15 Fit used with 52,000 showing (two years ago). Obviously the oil changes weren't done because the engine threw a rod with 82,000 showing. I replaced the engine with one from LKQ with less that 12,000 on it, basically a new engine. Had the soap done by Honda had them replace the clutch which I provided. After 6,500 miles its slipping badly. No warranty because I provided the clutch parts. They mentioned the clutch pack included a flywheel (at $580) which wasn't replaced norye recommended when the clutch was replaced. So I found an eXcedy clutch pack with either a chromoly flywheel or a cast iron flywheel. The chromoly one is pounds lighter. But what's the durability? I've driven Hondas with manual transmissions for almost thirty years. This is the second time I've ever had to replace one, and the ONLY time before well over 150,000 miles.

you might get a little bump in power , but with a little motor like that , you'll you'll lose some trackability , i don't think it's worth the tradeoff , you should
research that a little before you decide

the chromoly flywheel was an obscure brand. I went with a Luc cast iron one instead.
so older thread... Can you please remove the underline? It makes it incredibly difficult to read. I’m assuming English isn’t your native language and that’s ok, but please don’t use the underline.

It's a spammer posting vaguely-related gibbrish with some shady links at the end. That's all this user has done on this forum.

:S... well that sucks. Thanks for the update Jared, lol I want to promote participation, but spam isn't that. If mods were around would be nice to clean it up if its spam.
Yeah, I'm noticing it more frequently. I think it'd make sense for one of the regulars to be given mod status to at least deal with the spam.
We are around and we do clean up spam. Best thing you can do is to continue to report the spam threads/posts so we can take care of them.
