Haven't replaced mine yet, but our car was traded in at the dealer with 40+000 miles on it, he'd had it serviced there, dunno what he'd had done.... only recommended thing last time I was there is the manual gearbox drain and fill.... have 60+000 miles on it at the moment, runs like a Swiss watch or something. 'Tis a shame Honda killed off the Fit for the US, but.....the new ones look odd, I wouldn't've bought a new one anyway....go figure

I agree--Honda made a mistake cancelling the FIT for North America anticipating that fuel prices would remain low.
Honda says that in North America people prefer larger cars so they will double-up HR-V production by using the Mexican FIT assembly line. (Both the FIT and HR-V are on the same platform--factory in Mexico for North American Sales)

Last year Honda only sold 1/3 of the FIT sales of 2015/2016 in the USA so the accountants recommended a cut.

It's a fantastic car--I love my 2015 FIT. Not sure what I would replace it with?

Well gas prices have gone up steadily since November and they seem to keep rising. The Fit will be back.

Angry

The way things are going with our new administration, I expect $4 per gallon prices by the end of the year.

Ha! It's already close to $4.00 in California. I just filled up for $3.60 the other day. But it is always at least a dollar more in CA than anywhere else due to the "special" formulation of our fuels that costs more, and higher fuel taxes that funds so many great things...

One of the most interesting rides is when I drive from Los Angeles to Phoenix on I-10. The last Chevron station on the CA side a month ago was charging $3.40 and I crossed over the border and there is a Chevron right on the AZ side--same gas--$2.30. It's always a Dollar less in AZ and AZ does not have the cheapest gas either.

As history would indicate, regardless of fuel prices, American's have been in love with SUV's/trucks since the late 90's.
This pattern prevailed during the 08 market crash and will continue onward, regardless of what they charge for the gallon/liter.

The price of gas will remain low because there's plenty of oil in the ground and oil companies are getting really good at finding it. Also for non-transportation uses there are other energy sources getting less expensive (solar, wind, etc.).

The only thing that will bring the Fit back is that most of Honda's competitors also cancelled their small cars.

My Way Of Fighting Gas Prices. (well during the summer.)

Like everyone on this board I love my Fit. A Red 2015 EX stick.

During the summer I ride a 2007 stock Ruckus. My Fit stays parked for most of the summer.

I replaced mine at 107 on my used fit. It was a honda belt that came off so it may have been the original. So either 100000 or 50000?

My experience in the northeast is they easily make it to 60000 after that each oil change I just look for cracks on the rib side. When it starts cracking its time for a new belt.

Thanks for this information.

My belt from the factory has 68K on it now.
Trying to decide whether to replace it?
Honda says they should last 100K but I have heard a couple of squeals on startup lately but not every startup--and no pattern--and never 2 startups in a row, and not while driving it.
