ECU swap

Quick question since I have a v2 ktuner and our ecus are not compatible for a turbo, couldn't we just swap the civic si ecu into our car and and make our own custom turbo?

I don’t know anything for sure but the harnesses and connectors may be different. I think at that point most people get a custom ECU like from AEM. The other issue is that from what I’ve seen the stock GK MAP has a max readout of 10PSI, so you would have to get a 1.5T MAP or a custom one. I think the amount of necessary changes to the fuel map make it more economical in terms of time effort and money to just do a completely custom tune on a fresh ECU rather than jerry rig an Si or any other 1.5T ECU.

Then there’s the actual question of how much boost the stock 1.5L Fit engine can handle, which according to some tuners is maxed out around 50HP per cylinder before the con rods are at a high risk of of folding in on themselves. You could probably do something like Z06’s Max Effort build and overbuild the bottom end and lower compression a bit to make it more boost friendly.

A Chinese company does make supercharger and turbo kits and they use a piggyback ECU so that’s another option.

I think you should either look at a low boost application which might be able to be mapped using the stock ECU and KTuner, or look at a standalone ECU like the AEM Infinity. That being said if you figure out how to get the ask ECU running on our NA 1.5L please post your progress in a thread cause a ton of us would be interested Im sure!

Turbo ECU

I have been thinking about sending my stock block to Golden Eagle and have them do a low compression bottom end for a turbo. If I did, pretty sure I'd go stand alone ECU...
