Help needed for error code on Honda fit 2014 GK3

Hello everyone,

I have a fit 2014 GK3 with Automatic transmission and having an issue where the engine shut off after driving a few km and could reproduce the error if I maintain the acceleration at 3000 rpm for few minutes and the following error has been detected when scanned.
U0100-00 --> FCAN Malfunction (EPS / TCM)
U0416-68 --> VAS SYSTEM Failure
U0122-00 --> F-CAN Malfunction (EPS Control Unit PCM/TCM)
86-13 --> F-CAN Communication with PCM (gear system)
86-12 --> F-CAN Communication with PCM (Engine) Malfunction 83-12 PCM (gear system) failure

The mechanics is doing his best to locate the problem but unfortunately he can't figure out exactly what causing it and really need help on this. Note things that has just been replaced are:
- Battery
- Spark plug with that of Honda itself
- Transmission fluid

Anyone reply is most welcome as it could help in the troubleshooting.

Thanks,

To confirm you have a 2015 or later model Honda Fit (GK is the generation of Fits model year 2015 or later). I don't have a Service Manual (but one is available online). CAN bus failures are likely due to: (1) bad connections in your engine (computer/control) module [ECM], (2) failing ECM board. You may want to make sure your ECM is sealed (no water or for Winter conditions salt/water got into the board/connections. In addition make sure all grounding points and the battery cable connections are clean and well coneected (they shouldn't move side to side or up and down) on the battery posts.

Other areas to check:
- Fuses that power the VSA (it may be a 7.5 amp - on the Civic)
- Brake switch failure (switch cracked)
