2019-2020 Fuel Pump Recall

Sounds like Honda is recalling fuel pumps on several models, one of which is the 2019-2020 Fit.

https://www.autoblog.com/2021/03/31/...pump-recall-2/

The Honda web page to check your VIN to see if it's included in the recall is currently down, I'm guessing from the influx of requests.

My wife's 2019 LX is on the list. Haven't called the dealer yet. Occasionally she reports that it hesitates going up some hills, idk whether that's operator error (ha!) or incipient fuel pump trouble.

This recall is very interesting.
My 2016 EX has issues with accelerating while accelerating in the morning. It also is apparent on hills too.

i've had my recall notice since September , not comfortable with leaving the car with Honda , i guess my distrust level is
a bit high ? . i'm thinking of telling them my brother is a mechanic , give me a new pump in an unopened package and
he said he'd install it . used to be they just needed a signature that you received the part

I feel left out. Is the 2017 Fit the most problem free? I think so.

Mine has done the same thing since I bought it new. It very noticeable when the Cruise is engaged and the car no longer needs to accelerate to maintain speed. It always hesitates after that point then disappears until the next end of the next accel event. No codes have every been thrown.

Maybe. My Made in Japan '17 has been great.

Damn. My 19 LX is on the "we messed up your car from the factory" list. Guess I'll be waiting for that letter in the mail.

On that note though, does anyone experience a sort of like "chug" after getting off the accelerator then back on? It would make sense to be the fuel pump.

That sounds kinda like my car too, but mine's a 16 so I guess I'm not included in this recall.

Yes I do and it's been part of the car since I bought it new. It's most noticeable when the speed control (cruise control) is on and comes over a hill (and it stops accelerating that I feel that chug or hesitation).

there are supply chain issues due to the factory shut downs last year , it's been gumming up the works for quite a few auto makers

Just logged another 1000 miles on the new fuel pump. No issues and no changes (from the previous "bad" fuel pump and 23K miles strong). Make sure you "save" your USB fob (with music on it) as it will get removed when they take out the center console to replace the high pressure fuel pump. (I had to ask to get my USB fob back - don't ask)...
