Warning lights came on my 2018 Honda Fit Sport

I bought my 2018 Honda Fit sport last year and it currently has 25k miles on it. All of these warning lights came on. I had P0302 misfire no. 2 cylinder code and had the ignition coil replaced. All of the warning codes came back on a week later. I went back the mechanic and they told me I needed to use a higher quality gas. I browsed some older posts regarding this. I wanted to get everyone else’s input on how they resolved this since this seems to be a common issue.

Hey there. I have a 2015 (bought new in Jan. 2015) Fit EX 6spd manual with 170k miles. My dash started to do the same around 140K miles with all the lights on. dealership told me this is the first they have seen this and I did not want to pay $140 for a diagnosis for each warning light since the car runs perfectly fine. I would love to know if people on here have resolved this.

. Guessing a new set of fuel injectors? Unfortunately, Honda wants you to replace all four, and as I understand it, it’s not inexpensive

Our older 2006 Honda Pilot did this (most/all of the warning lights turning on & misc fault codes showing up).. ended up being the alternator going out. Seems like an old 2000 Ford Expy I had did something very similar, and it was also the alternator gone bad. May not be the same issue for you, but it sounded similar, so I thought I'd throw it out there.

The picture shows the tach at 0 which means the engine is not running. If the lights are staying on when the engine is running, then clearly something is wrong. It could be the alternator is not putting out enough juice, which taxes the electrical system, although it would have to be so bad you could barely start the car in the first place. If you put the leads of a voltmeter up to the battery terminals with the engine running, the voltage reading should be at least 14.00 with the lights on full and no other accessories. If the reading gets below 13.2, it could cause trouble like that. I once owned a Volvo that the alternator AND battery were faulty and the ABS, battery, and a few other lights came on when I revved the engine in neutral or as I was coming to a stop. The lights would go out on their own pretty quick though once voltage returned to an "acceptable" spec. My Fit just surpassed 6000 miles this week so I haven't run into any issues like that yet on my own Fit.

As far as the misfire, it's very unlikely the misfire alone is causing all those warning lights to stay on. The worst a misfire can do is make the check engine light stay on or if it's really bad, make the CEL flash. A plethora of things could be causing the P0302 code as I'm sure you're aware. Faulty spark plug/wire, faulty fuel injector, carbon buildup, and yes, bad gasoline can exacerbate an existing issue enough to trip the CEL. Although very unlikely, a new ignition coil can be bad. You could try swapping the new ignition coil with another, clear the code, and see if the misfire jumps to the other cylinder.

If that happened to my car I'd take it to a mechanic or the dealer and have them diagnose the issue with live data to pinpoint the issue.

<-- Good point, I did not catch that.. need to pay attention to details a little better

Wait, 2018 with 25K miles... Wouldn't your Fit still be covered under the factory warranty? That was one of the big things that got me to look at getting the Fit I bought back in February.. I love that the warranty follows the car, not the original buyer. Hopefully I didn't misunderstand something about that. This is my first Fit, so I'm still learning and figuring things out.

On a side note, our older Pilot did start throwing random warning lights at one point.. I hooked up the reader and there were some odd codes that changed every time I reset them, and meanwhile random dash warning lights kept coming on and going off. That one ended up being a valve adjustment, which is the only thing I ever took that car in for. I watched a video about how to do it, but that one just didn't seem like that much fun to do on my own. That happened around 120K or so though, so most likely not the case here.

We're still seeing reports of injector failure, even in the later model years. I don't think Honda has this one figured out yet. This is where the problem lies: At 25K, will be replaced under warranty. 11K more, $2-3 K repair out of pocket.
