Corporate does the right thing on starter button fail

Just like to give props to Honda corporate for stepping up and doing the right thing. My '15 EX 6MT was one of those affected by the bad starter button. i had it fixed locally and added that to my list of reasons not to buy a Honda next time. Then I got a letter from corporate about the warranty extension for the button and this week I finally got around to filing a claim online. Well, this morning I got a call from a woman at Honda who informed me that my claim was approved and I'd be getting a check in the next several weeks. Gotta say I was a bit surprised by this, and it was a good feeling. I still have the VTC grind and the sword of fuel injection failure hanging over my head but for now it's a good day.

Nice!
What's even nicer is that you have a 6MT
'19 EX MT6 here. Note there is no '20 EX MT6, at least in the US.
Accord MT6 went away, too. Sad.

Can you expand on "sword of fuel injection failure"? My car ('15 EX) also does the VTC grind (I bought it used and 82k miles so no warranty) and it seemed like from what I read on this forum the noise wasn't a problem, just annoying.

The VTC grind greatly diminishes my car's resale value esp. in the private resale market. Not an issue now but things change and it limits my options unnecessarily. There are several threads on this board about a TSB that was issued on problems with the fuel rails and injectors of some 2015-'16 Fits. The fix is very expensive and Honda hasn't been very generous helping defray the cost.

After extensive research on the CRV forums, I reported months ago that the VTC grind isn't merely a "cosmetic" issue.
Rather, it's an issue that eventually leads to engine failure from the engine falling out of time.

Sure but....

Has anyone actually gotten a refund? They verified my information with me months ago and my mailbox is still empty.

how much time does it fall out of?

im really, really really hoping bachs correct, but my unlearned opinion is the noise is actually the timing belt "tensioner" ..large piece with with wear plate? slapping around while everything finds the correct position..which could well mean a tooth skip=death or at least tensioner early destruction

me too on the sword of damocles with the fuel injectors
