Failure to lock the car drains the battery overnight

I'm a new Fit owner and Forum member.

I have a 2016 Fit that drains the battery completely if I leave the car unlocked overnight.
If I do leave the car locked, the battery does not drain itself.

Is this a failure of the driver door lock actuator ?
Has anyone else faced a similar issue ?

Thank you

No, but I would never leave the car unlocked.

The issue is parasitic drain with the engine off. Could be the actuators, or something else:

I leave mine unlocked overnight in our garage every night, all night, only gets locked when parked outside, have never had a battery problem...yet...probably something going on, but I couldn't tell ya what. Ours is a simple LX, fwiw, can't comment on the higher end models.....we bought a HRV EX for my wife, it's silly, so much electronic stuff.....but her car has never discharged overnight unlocked in the garage either ...go figure

My 2018 is left unlocked when parked in the garage and locked when parked outside. No battery issues. I occasionally connect my NOCO Genius 5 charger to maintain and charge the battery which is still the original.

Am thinking of buying a battery tender/charger more so for my lawn tractor than the cars, it goes through batteries.....and my Fit battery looks about the same tiny size as the tractor LOL, still going strong. so far. My father in law has a 12v charger, but it's ancient and I don't trust it, like really ancient. He had it hooked up to her car when it wouldn't start.....and wouldn't start - I went over to check it out, one of them had left the auto trans in R somehow.....put it in P, started right up, checked battery/alt with my reader, they were just fine....... What a drag it is getting old... I could go on and on, but deserves a thread elsewhere

I had an old battery charger which I threw out. Old technology, really old components - I just didn't trust it any more. As it happens I also bought the NOCO Genius 5. Wasn't cheap and it's pretty small compared to my old metal box, but it worked well the odd time I've used it. My 2018 Fit battery is also original but I just did a load test on it the other day and it has deteriorated a bit. I figure I can get another year or more out of it but may not wait because I am anxious to switch over to a 51R battery.

I'm with stupid. I never ever lock my cars sleeping the in the garage overnight. Who said the car has to be locked, otherwise, the battery would drain? High end models would do this? Non sense.

Yeah, wouldn't think fancier models would be any different on a battery than an LX, was just pondering....been drinking too much coffee lately,,,,I think too much, I have a thinking problem . Only way into our garage is the garage doors, and our "three dog alarm" would definitely let us know,, and wife and both have a handgun .... I pity the fool comes into my house uninvited Am actually amazed the Fit battery has lasted this long, given it's size - a '15, probably original battery, purchased CPO in '16, never any trouble yet,,,,,but damn it's tiny. We once had a Toyota Tercel that came stock with a Panasonic battery, that thing lasted 10 yrs, 140,000miles,, was impressed
