2018 Honda Fit Issue (Grinding Noise At Startup)

Hello all,

New member here.

About 6 months ago our 2018 Honda Fit started making a grinding noise at start up. It didn't happen all the time, but it's progressing. What do I mean? The sound is lasting longer and getting louder. I've taken it to the dealer and they replaced the starter for free, but that didn't fix the issue.

Do you have any ideas on what it could be? The dealer appears to have no idea what it is.

Welcome. I'm surprised they didn't consider the VTC actuator. Here's a recent thread:

Thanks for the information. I'm going to pass this along to my Service Advisor. I'll let the group know if this resolves the issue.

Sorry to hear your troubles.

If you don't mind, can you please tell us the oil change interval for your car?
Also, how long have you had the car and type of oil you use (type and weight)?
