front washer is out

the other morning just noticed my front washer pump has stopped working , the wiper goes on as normal , but no washer , no sound of the pump . the rear
window washer works fine , i believe it's a separate unit . does the front washer have it's own relay ? the car is a '19 LX . if i have to , i think ( hope ) i can access
the pump from the wheel well and not have to remove the bumper

Have you checked all the lines at the front to see if any are frozen? First thing I think of in cold temps.

wiper fluid doesn't freeze , and the rear washer works fine . i don't hear the washer motor running up front , the previous gen. fit doesn't use relays
from what i can see in the schematic for that car . fuses are under the dash and it's 21 degrees outside today , so , it can wait . i found out the pump
can be accessed from the wheel well . i my SI had a problem with the washer but can't for the life of me i can't remember what the fix was . was probably well over 10
years ago .

Summer wiper fluid certainly does.
It's designed with no alcohols and more detergents for bug guts/splatter etc.
To prevent any issues like this, they usually recommend "winter" fluid all year round.

I'd check the relays and fuses.

just checked the fuse #22 under dash and it's fine , but the fuse for the rear washer is missing , but the rear washer works , weird . so i have to pull out 22
and see if it affects the rear . anyway if the front pump is shot , that's with only 34k on the car . wouldn't expect that short of a life span . and at 26 degrees
outside and going down for the week end , i guess it'll have to wait a little more , exept of course we're expecting some kind for noreaster this weekend

I don't think I've ever seen a post here from someone with a GK reporting a washer pump failure.

I liked the washer on my really old VW beetle, many decades ago. The washer fluid was pressurized by a hose which ran from the spare tire to the washer system. No need for this pump nonsense! Of course as you used the windshield washer the pressure in the spare tire would drop. I think there was a cutoff so that you could only use the washer until the tire pressure dropped to a certain level. After all you might suddenly need that spare tire for something else.....

I would like to chime in and say that I've had issues with my '19 LX front wiper since the day I got it. Seems like the pump is incredibly weak, and, if you're not both 1) at a full stop and 2) driving on a warm engine, then the pump does literally nothing. It just splooges on the bottom of the windshield, and the wind carries it upwards. In terms of total failures, I wouldn't be surprised. I've even had the bottom most hose completely disconnect and just spray fluid all over the ground when I activate it. That was a fun one.

Anyway, I wouldn't say it's that uncommon. All depends on the car. Mine is a '19 that was totaled by first owner at 6K miles, was completely rebuilt, and sold to me for a steal. I expect small issues.

, i have say the problem with the wiper was resolved , toying around with the
stalk for the wiper , i suddenly realized it was my mistake , i wasn't working the stalk properly ! had totally drawn a blank . kind of
embarrassing , i figured the thread would just go away , but since there's a new one , i figured , i'd better own up . was getting ready
to go through the whole process to get at the pump . but the pump is fine , no issues . maybe i should start a thread on " forgetting how to
operate stuff on my car and then thinking somethings' broke "
