IRP short shifter

Hello,

I want to get a short shifter for my gk5 fit and want the IRP shifter. https://www.irp.lt/individual-racing-parts-product/short-shifter-honda-civic-integra-cr-x-del-sol/

I know the fitment will be different and my not work with the plastic trim, but I’m willing to take it out. Has anyone tried this? I’ve never swapped a shifter before the so main thing I’m worried about it’s the shifter cords connecting and the new shifter working for 6speed and reverse.

lmk what you think

How is that gonna work for a gk5? Looks like it's for a D or B series

had a short shifter from Neuspeed in my '02 EP3 for quite a few years . was very cool but notchy , finally took it out . i preferred smooth over notchy . also , a short shifter only
shortens the travel , it doesn't let you shift any faster , you'll hurt something doing that

A long time ago, I installed a short shifter thingy in a Mazda Protege5. I reverted to the original soon after. Talk about a wasted time & money.

Transmission requires certain amount of movement for the gear shifts, and that isn't changing, unless you're modifying the transmission itself.
So all that the short shifter is changing is the leverage ratio. And that of course just means top part moves less, but bottom part still moves the same amount.
And that means more force is required at the top side. But some people like that, I guess. Shrug.

Looks like the kit in the link moves the pivot point higher, also. Maybe that's beneficial to some people. Again, shrug.

To me, the only thing good about the kit was the higher quality bushing, but it wasn't worth it for me.
