2016 Fit with black radio screen

Hi,

I just joined the forum b/c wife has 2016 Fit, and I have a 2020 Fit.

My wifes' 2016 Fit's battery went dead after she left an inside light on, and now her radio screen is mostly black, but the radio and CD player work fine.

Does anyone know how to get the screen back to its normal display?

Thanks very much, Keith

Welcome. There is a button at top left with a sun/moon icon left of the CD tray. That button adjusts display brightness. See if you can bring back the display with that button.

Unfortunately, that did not fix it--the radio display is still black with the time in the upper right corner. The radio works fine.

Black screen with time in upper corner. Radio plays, but this is the only screen we get.

I still think your display brightness is turned all the way down. That would explain the clock functioning (always on no matter screen brightness) but nothing else visible.

Owners manual, p. 169, states that the "brightness" button (sun/moon icon) is used with the right selector knob (List/Select) to adjust display brightness. Press brightness button, use selector knob to increase, done.

It also states that each time you press the brightness button, it toggles between daytime mode, nighttime mode, and off. So if you're pressing the button without using the knob, it probably doesn't do anything other than toggle, which doesn't get you your screen back.

Here's the manual if you want to read it yourself:
