Has anyone ever tackled replacing a 2015!AC compressor assembly ?

I just returned from a dealership that I paid $176 to diagnose my AC and they told me to replace the AC compressor assembly will cost me $2570 I search YouTube to see if this is something I would like to tackle myself but I cannot find anyone who has posted the removal in a 2015 only second generation fits.

You certain it's the AC compressor?
On something that new, I doubt that's the cause.

Regardless, unless you have the tools to evacuate/recharge the system properly, this isn't something I'd suggest doing yourself.
Maybe consider getting a repair shop to confirm the diagnosis?

My compressor went on my 2015. Replacement was $1740 at my trusted local independent mechanic. At least shop quotes.

Why dont you replace it yourself, should be a few bolts and connections, or is the issue catching the freon to save it?

The physical replacement of the compressor itself is basic wrenching 101, almost anyone can do it. The proper, safe, legal evacuation of the refrigerant from the system, followed by the placing of that system under a vacuum to facilitate proper, safe, and legal recharging is most definitely NOT so. You would need access to a HVAC recovery machine and cylinders with which to capture the refrigerant. More importantly, realize that depending on what caused the compressor to fail, that refrigerant is most likely contaminated, and will quickly destroy a new compressor IF it were re-used. As others have said, shop around, get multiple qoutes, go with the one that fits your budget. But unless you have a background in HVAC repair, leave it to the pros

Excellent advice and well on target, agree completely.
Some jobs are great for home wrenching, replacing the a/c compressor isn’t one of them when evacuating & recharging the system is involved.
