Accessing the top of the rear shocks?
2016 Fit
Last year's inspection the guy claimed we needed new shocks. My Daughter's buddy works there and checked it afterwards and passed it. I suspect it was a sales tactic. No sponginess in the rear, doesn't bounce, no rough ride. However, I had a credit on Rockauto, so got a pair of shocks.
We're taking it back to get it inspected in November, and will go directly to see her Buddy. If he says they need done, I'll do them.
The Videos I've seen must be from an earlier Generation fit. No access 'panel' for the upper shock in the hatch area.
Anyone have a DIY on how to get into the area behind the carpet/trim?
Thanks!

In my sig with my car audio install, I've posted pics of the rear including shock towers. There are also numerous threads showing the rear shock tower in GK via google and on this forum before I opened mine up.
Unfortunately, no more E30s in my stable. Had an 86 325, sold it when I moved to PA. Bought a 318is as a 'project'....thing made 300k+ miles before it was rear ended and totaled. Miss that car. If I ever had garage space, I'd try to find another E30...they are very fun cars.
Buy more clips from Honda because if your not careful taking the side "carpet" back, you'll break them. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you start hearing a rattle... You'll realize why all the clips need to be there.
Is there a part number for the clips?
Actually....for the BMWs, there's 'Realoem.com' which lists part numbers, and even dimensions on some fasteners (comes in real handy when you drop and can't find the bolt and need to run to the hardware store instead of waiting for the dealer to open on Monday and spending 10x as much). Is there a good place to look up Honda Fit diagrams with part numbers?
Thanks!

Most of the bolts on the Fit are metric except the passenger seatbelt anchor bolt through my experience.

For a Honda version of that site, hondapartsonline.net is what I have found most useful.
