Air bag deactivate

I have a 2016 fit hybrid. It’s an import. Is there a place to deactivate the airbag? I looked in the suggested places but didn’t find anything.

Why would you want to deactivate it?
There's also more than the one, there's airbags in the seats and headliner (that I know of).

Well….To get your drivers license you need to know how to shut it off in Ireland. Never thought I’d be going through getting a permit and then 12 hrs of lessons to get my license at 70. I’ve been driving for 55yrs in the states and now have to do it all over again in Ireland to get a Irish license.

Didn't know in Ireland they needed to do that but after a bit of reading it seems that they are talking about deactivating the passenger airbag when a child is in the passenger seat. Not sure this is true of all Fits but my Canadian 2016 Fit automatically disables the passenger airbag if the weight on the seat is too low. You could check this by putting a bunch of grocery bags or child weight backpack on the passenger seat and you should see an indicator light showing that the passenger airbag is deactivated. The product brochure says that the Fit has "It features dual-stage, multiplethreshold front airbags" meaning it will adapt the airbag impact based on the weight of the passenger. I would check the brochure for your model and inform them that the vehicle will automatically disable the airbags.

Open the passenger door and look at the end of the dashboard. There is a key operated switch to disable passenger airbag. That's where it has been in all Hondas since airbags were introduced in 90's.

Could you also click the passenger seatbelt together? That, plus the seat weight might triggering the cut-off?

That probably isn't reliable and accepted method for driver's licence exam.

Knowing how to disable the air bag just to get a drivers license in any country is one of the dumbest things I have ever read in my life.

Question: Are all airbags disabled if the battery is disconnected? Thanks.
