My daughter slid her 2019 Fit onto a curb at slow speed and all right side air bags deployed .. Dealer says car is totaled and Insurance wants to pay her $15000 . Seems like a scam .

 

Many vehicles are being written off simply due to lack of parts (shortages).
Insurance doesn't want to pay for a car rental while waiting for parts that have no ETA.
Easier to simply total it and move on.

Also, to get the side airbags to deploy from sliding into a curb would take significant force.
I'd expect to find at least a couple broken/bent wheels
Maybe your daughter should consider driving school or at least winter tires for her next vehicle.

 

$15,000 sounds like a good deal. Is it?
