Unhappy P0420 and exhaust leak.. anyone have this happen?

The car may have idled for a few hours in a parking lot 😅

I'm thinking something burned up. But idk. I have to drive 3 hours to put it up on ramps and look for the leak. I was wondering if this is a common point of failure, and if so, what should I expect when I get underneath this car?

Full disclosure I drive 90s dodge v8s (01 ram and 03 durango with 5.9). It's been a minute since I've been under a Honda. Any guidance would be most appreciated 🙏

Damn, have the exact same problem.

Did you sort it? Would you say fixing the leak would get rid of the error code?

Welcome to you both!

p0420 means raw fuel is being dumped into the cat. If you have a '15 or '16, you might need new injectors.

This happened to me a year ago with my '16 LX at 88K. Got the p0420, contacted Honda. My vehicle was in the extended warranty serial number range, so they gave me new injectors and a rail at no charge.

It might not be what you're experiencing, but it's worth checking out. Here's the TSB:
