Radio Code 2020 3rd Gen Fit?

Not a car guy. I believe I have seen posts on here and elsewhere to look in the manual as well as inside the glove box and the sides of the glove box for the code but I have been unable to find it.

When I went into the dealership for a good price on A1/ B1 ($45) the other week I asked for the code in case I ever needed it and was told that the code changes all the time and that if I ever need it I should call up.

Is that right? and if so how come I have seen posts about where it might be located inside the car. Could it have anything to do with 3rd gen 2020 LX CV assembled in Mexico? TIA.

You don't need a code if it's the original radio. Just hold the power button for 2 secs.

Yup. I think the code thing goes back to the days when radios used to be stolen from cars. That's no longer an issue and Honda has quietly dropped it and just gone to the power button thing.

Copy that. Thanks. So as mentioned I don't need the code at the moment since the radio is working and nothing as yet such as swapping battery's has caused the radio to go nuts. I just wanted to have it on hand in case I needed it. Since I don't like to mess around if it's not broken do you have a good idea what might happen if I were to hold the power button in? Would the radio possibly shut off and just recycle to on again or am I looking for trouble when I shouldn't be. TIA.

Copy that. Thanks. If you do not mind I will ask you the same question I asked howarejew.

I've used the power button once when I took too long changing a battery. From what I remember the issue wasn't the radio, but the car's security system. This is the note I wrote myself after this experience:

"I had a problem when I upgraded my battery to the larger size. I had the power disconnected from the car for too long and the security system (tied in to the radio) got irritated and gave me this message "Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to enable the system".

Took a lot of searching to find out that the power button is simply the radio volume control knob. With the car running press the radio volume control for several seconds and that should clear any messages and restore the car's security system. Don't do this with the engine off because then you will be asked to enter a security code which you don't have!"

The audio unit is married to the ecu. You need the anti-theft code if you install it into a different car. Otherwise you just hold down the power button.
