While CVT is out - should I do rear main seal?

Hi everyone

2015 CVT Fit with 115,000 miles. Transmission is out to replace it with a used CVT that only has 40K miles.

I have searched and found an equal number of "Yes" and "no" replies to this question for my specific situation so Im asking yall.

The rear main seal looks perfect from what I can see with CVT out. Is this a case of "if it aint broke dont fix it" or is it "Since its right there, go ahead and put a new one in."

Im a half decent home mechanic but I also seem to have bad luck often when I try to do preventative maintenance - So I guess that means Im a crappy mechanic!

Any advice - especially for people with Gen 3 Fits - would be greatly appreciated!

Greg

Welcome. If your rear main looks good, I'd leave it exactly as it is. The law of unintended consequences applies here. No need to poke the bear on this one.
