I'd like to add a water temp gauge to my 2015. Yes, I know, not necessary, but a "want." If I check on eBay for example, I get many hits that claim "This item fits." Where would these sensors for gauge tap into? There's no way this is as easy as it sounds, almost plug n play.
Anyway, here is just one example of what supposedly fits:
Another option to consider is the Ultragauge which I use monitor coolant temperature as well as many other parameters, including trouble codes (I've never seen any, but the manual says that you can read them). Mine plugs into the OBD port with a long cord but I think newer versions have a Bluetooth dongle for a cleaner install. The Scangauge will likely give you the same options in a different form factor.
These options are more expensive than the analog gauge you linked to, but are also plug-and-play and provide additional functionality. They also don't require working a cable through the firewall or removing/reinstalling fittings on the engine or cooling system, if that matters to you.
I guess I'm overthinking this because all I have to do is tap into the current sensor. Hopefully the blue idiot light will remain off. It'll be a spring project and I'll update.
I purchased this last week for the same purpose, I haven't had the opportunity to install it yet though. Living in a hot part of the world I didn't want to risk not having a temperature gauge so a friend of mine showed me how he does it using a 'watchdog.' I got one from thermomart.com Looks simple enough to fit.

Assembled. Temperature line from gearbox (just because I could) and top of engine and found a super easy line to get the wires through under the front corner window and then slide it under door seal. I'll straighten it up once I'm sure about it, but for now its just zip-tied into place. 2 zone temperature gauge, total overkill but it looked strange with only one display working
