2019 Brake Replacement Trouble

I have a 2019 Fit LX and I live in NY state with salty winter roads. I am replacing the front brake pads. I cannot seem to fit the new pads into the bracket. I cleaned everything up and got new clips but they won't wiggle in after an hour + plus of me trying. It's almost like the bracket is bent out of shape or the pads are slightly the wrong size. I know when I took out the old ones they were really tough to get out. I feel like I need to replace the bracket, grind the metal on the pads or something else, Does any of this sound like a typical problem? I have watched several videos but they doin't seem to have my problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

How do you know that you have the right pads for your car?

Well, actually... I thought the ones I got from AutoZone might be the wrong size after they matched them up so I got another set at Napa.
