I had to park in an area with very limited parking last night, so I pulled off the road onto the shoulder. When I began to leave later, I heard a Bang, Bang, Bang coming from the rear. I looked under the car, but I saw nothing. As I dove faster - 5 MPH - the sound got faster and louder. After looking two more times, I started up slowly, and the noise faded away. All I can think of is that something got wrapped around a wheel, but there was nothing to be seem. It was late at night and totally dark so I'm glad the problem solved itself.

 

i thought i had a screw in my tire, could hear the tick, tick, tick.....turned out to be a piece of very sticky tape hitting the mudflap.....lucky yours fixed its self, maybe try and recreate in the day to be sure?
