Hi all,

I'm still very new to this 2016 EXL and trying to figure out it's little tricks. When I shut off the car, get out, and close the door, two little red lights are flashing at me. One is on the speedo, just below the temp indicator. You can see the light (not on) just above 3:00 position. The other red flashing light is beside the CD player, between the power button and CD slot. I can't find any reference to these. They only flash when I'm out of the car and it's shut off. Any advice? Not sure if this just started or I just hadn't noticed these. Not yet sure if they stay on or not. Thanks!

 

Just an update. So the lights both stay flashing when car is locked and parked. The light on the tach only seems to come on with engine off, me not in the drivers seat, and doors locked. I'm suspecting this might be an alarm? Don't know if car even has an alarm. The light on the radio is always flashing anytime the engine is off. Maybe another theft deterrent? Thanks for any thoughts.

 

The lights are associated with the built in security system and are nothing to worry about. The behavior you describe is completely normal.

 

Hi Drew. Thanks so much. I've had the car about a month and I guessed I never noticed it. Thought it was a "new" issue and couldn't find a reference in the owners manual. Very appreciated,

 

Drew21 is right. It really annoyed me when I first noticed it years ago. Honda doesn't properly explain it because , well, I guess it's a secret that the owner can't be trusted with.
